RESPONSIBILITIES

Under general supervision, the role of the B-Pressure Welder encompasses many activities including but not limited to,

Reading and interpreting blueprints and welding process specifications;
Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas metal arc welding pulse (GMAW-P/ STT), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and submerged arc welding (SAW);
Operating flame-cutting/ plasma cutting equipment;
Operating metal-shaping machines such as iron workers, drill presses, and other metal straightening and bending machines;
Removing metal and/or preparing materials for welding by gouging and grinding;
Ensuring all welding equipment is clean and functional;
Assisting with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment;
Layout on vessels and piping;
Standing for long periods of time. Lifting light to moderate weights;
Other duties as assigned.
